What Sets Us Apart
If the consumer would look past the flash of a model home and search deeper into the aesthetics, such as the drywall, trim work and paint for instance, they would notice obvious differences in our quality. The model homes are there for your review and we challenge you to make the comparisons.

The following are a few of our “brand components” that we address on every Hilmann Home:
Builder and superintendents personally visit and oversee each job site routinely everyday. It is not uncommon for several visits to be made daily to each site. The builder (Brad Plamann) personally spends 1-2 hours reviewing the roughed-in home (before insulation and sheetrock are applied) to insure all structural and mechanical issues have been addressed. After a list is generated and completed, the builder will meet with the buyer pre-drywall for an electrical walk-through.
Hilmann Homes screws-down all subfloors prior to carpet
. This is something that generally only occurs with “high-end” homes, but we feel it is essential to help prevent future floor squeaks in all our homes. To insure a “squeak proof” floor is nearly impossible, however we are taking that next step to prevent the majority of them.
Pre-paint spackling. This is something we pride ourselves in… as being the only contractor that does this procedure the way we do. Once the home has had the wall primer applied, the painter informs the builder or his superintendent that the walls are ready for “pre-spackle”.

The pre-spackle procedure consists of using a droplight to cast a shadow on the walls to reveal imperfections. The blemish is then spackled and sanded to a smooth finish before paint. We are attempting to rid the home of the majority of these blemishes and rarely does a homeowner find flaws on the walls at the final walk through.

Before the homeowner moves in, a walk through is conducted personally with the builder, which is also unusual in this day and age of home building. Brad Plamann will guide you through your new home personally pointing out all of the necessary information and answering any and all your questions. If something is noted on the closing walk-through, it is generally corrected on-the-spot by a member of our team.

Warranty service is all in-house. (It is common practice for builders to subcontract the warranty service out.) Hilmann Homes’ superintendents perform all the warranty service and sometimes Brad himself gets involved. Once a list is received via fax or mail it is completed within a week or two depending on its nature and the availability of the home's access. We pride ourselves on having very little warranty work requested/needed at the 11-month time frame.
